Sarah E Chant

|Lecturer

Sarah Chant is a Lecturer in Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. Their research explores the production of queer and trans futures and political possibilities in Alabama through practices of affect and memory. They are particularly interested in how these spatial imaginings intersect with broader landscapes of race, class, gender, and colonialism in the South. An anthropologist by training, she is currently developing a project on the affective dimensions and histories of anti-trans legislation in the Southeastern United States.
