This much-anticipated film offers a look inside the most powerful and controversial media empire of all time, Fox News, and the explosive story of the women who brought down the infamous man who created it. While director Jay Roach has the cast stacked with comic heavyweights like an excellent-as-always Kate McKinnon, Rob Delaney, Mark Duplass, and actors like Allison Janney, Stephen Root and Connie Britton who easily bridge the comedy-drama divide, the film is no comedy.

Ailes’s ruin came months before Donald Trump’s election and a year before the #MeToo movement took flight, and Bombshell, written by Charles Randolph (The Big Short), inevitably resonates in a way it wouldn’t have even three years ago when these events took place. D: Jay Roach, US, 2019, 108m
