Established in 1978, Dartmouth College's Women's Studies Program was the first such program in the formerly all-male Ivy League. In 1996, we became the academic hub for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies and changed our name to Women's and Gender Studies. As of July 1, 2015, we are Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Today, the interdisciplinary WGSS Program draws on resources from the Social Sciences, the Arts and Humanities, and the Sciences.
