How did reproductive politics become central to producing modern India? To answer this question, Mytheli Sreenivas (The Ohio State University) turns to the history of marriage, the family, and contraception to show that reproduction was central to debates about politics, economics, and the future of independent India.

Join the author, in conversation with Amna Qayyum (Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, Yale University) and Carole McCann (UMBC), to hear more.

Elizabeth Lhost (History, Dartmouth) will host the discussion, which will be moderated by Douglas E. Haynes (History, Dartmouth).
