

The Program in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies is hosting a visit by Jennifer Hirsch of Columbia University and Shamus Khan of Princeton University to discuss their critically acclaimed book, Sexual Citizens: Sex, Power, and Assault on Campus.

On October 11, 2021, 4:30–6 p.m., the Program in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies will host a conversation in Filene Auditorium with Jennifer Hirsch, Professor of Socio-Medical Sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University; Shamus Khan, Professor of Sociology and American Studies at Princeton University; Mingwei Huang, Assistant Professor of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Dartmouth College; and Misty De Berry, Lecturer of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Dartmouth College.

Jennifer S. Hirsch is a professor of socio-medical sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. Her research spans five intertwined domains: the anthropology of love; gender, sexuality, and migration; sexual, reproductive, and HIV risk practices; social scientific research on sexual assault and undergraduate well-being, and the intersections between anthropology and public health. She is one of New York City's 16 'Heroes in the Fight Against Gender-Based Violence.' In 2012 she was selected as a Guggenheim Fellow. You can read more about her work here.
