Haldeman Hall 41 (Kreindler Conference Hall)
Intended Audience(s): Public
Categories: Arts, Arts and Sciences, Lectures & Seminars

What does it mean to think about sexual ethics through visual fantasy? How is this complicated by the colonial and bureaucratic gaze? Two queer artists, scholars, and friends, Jorge Sánchez and Camilo Godoy from Puerto Rico and Colombia, respectively, will present on the ethics and erotics of queer friendship and art from an intersectional Latinx perspective.

Jorge Sánchez will address the radicalized erotics in queer Latinx art, with questions of an ethical, ethnic gaze in the production of difference at museums and galleries. Camilo Godoy will present his recent solo exhibition on view at PROXYCO Gallery in New York with photographs and historical documents on queer sexuality and performance.
